  • Actually there are no benefits in physical sense. This is not stretching, this is abuse. The back gets stiff and is hurting, the neck is hurting and the horse cannot breathe properly. Read the book of Dr. Gerd Heuschmannand watch the video's carefully.

  • The FEI Veterinary Committee made a statement on their position towards the Rollkur, also called hyperflexion,

: The FEI condemns hyperflexion in any equestrian sport as an example of mental abuse. The FEI states that it does not support the practice."

  • Hyperflexion is disgusting. The horse is in constant pain and becomes disabled both mentally and physically by this ridiculous practice. It reminds me of a scene in Black Beauty, where his cruel mistress orders her stable hands to have her horses heads raised on her trap. It's not Rollkur, but it's on a similar level.

Horses perform better without this crap.

  • As number 1 dressage rider (why?) SHE should be setting an example. All she is doing is setting a very bad example.

  • @xbethlovesux @DanceofDevotion i wanna see you with hyperfelxion, jogging and running around and do some dressage.

  • @zhivana I know, I dont understand why the hell people do it! ITS NOT DRESSAGE!

  • @SDChick

Exactly, carrot stretches are awesome and if you want muscles and top line stretched, this is the way to do it; the horse chooses to do it because of the treated and they're rewarded for it! Not forced into..... ugh people sometimes.

  • Hahaha... you can make it sound fancy by calling it "hyperflexion", but it's just plain old way behind the bit and poor collection.

  • There's a way to get them to stretch neck muscles with no cruelty: get them to bow for a carrot or treat. Lasts maybe 5-10 seconds, nice reward, no bit yanking necessary. 5-10 seconds is all you would need for stretching and any more than that is nuts.

Rollkur is bull. All it teaches the horse is that riding sucks.

  • Agreed

  • Awesome!

  • I think it's clear what the horses' opinion is. I'd think theirs matters more than ours does.

  • ROLLKUR WAS BANNED BY THE FEI TODAY! Finally! It's put under penalty for all disciplines if performed in public. Finally. But don't stop the fight now. Fight against the new Show-dressage.

  • the horses head should be vertical, a neat line down from the poll towards the ground, it should not be drawn in on its own chest! it looks ugly, its uncomfortable for the horse and it makes them perform WORSE because they can't get enough air!
