if you build things here you are supposed to use methods like feng shui.

so when people ignore how to do things properly, it starts to mess up reality. that then gets worse and worse, and will continue to do so unless people don't join in with doing things wrong.

it's the same as that, the entity you mean messes with spacetime and does things to it that break it, in the same way that not building right breaks things at a smaller scale.

@chriscartelcanada - it's more that the entity thing you are meaning, the defiler of the world, imagines god to be something that god isn't, and it thinks it is spiting it and also gaining followers in the way you describe. it's a problem that something so stupid that deludes itself that way can exist, as it then poisons the rest of the world, that anyone else has to also live in. it wasn't given a remit or anything, it's that it misuses 'magic' just to mess with spacetime.
