SIDE IMPACT TEST WITH STANDARD SIDE AIRBAGS

Rear passenger Good Good Good Good

Important: Side impact crash test ratings can be compared across vehicle type and weight categories.
Test details:

The Hyundai Santa Fe was redesigned for the 2007 model year. Beginning with 2007 models built after March 2007, minor design changes were made to the side curtain airbags to improve occupant protection in side impact crashes.
Injury measures:

Driver — Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.

Rear passenger — Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.
Head protection:

Driver — The dummy's head was protected from being hit by any hard structures, including the intruding barrier, by a side airbag that deployed from the seat. The side curtain airbag that deployed from the roof enhances head protection in side crashes especially for taller occupants.

Rear passenger — The dummy's head was protected from being hit by any hard structures, including the intruding barrier, by a side curtain airbag that deployed from the roof.

  • @MrEggwhites as it was a side impact crash "test" they possibly saw this problem and fixed it before they even began to sell the 2008 santa fe.

  • @Porsche1080 in America "all" cars do not have to have side airbags,if you mean by every single car in America I mean, not just newer made models. Hell,my 84 lincoln towncar has no airbags at all.

  • I've seen a few accidents in these cars. and actually they come out better than any other vehicle. I work in a gas station and see accidents all the time. There was one where a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe was struck on the front passenger side by a Honda CR-V. The CR-V ran a red light. The Santa Fe's systems did what they were supposed to do. The lady walked away. The driver and passengers of the CR-V were all taken to the hospital.

  • luck i dont have this car
