One Hour Later;
Nick;
I slowly stroked Selena's brunette hair which was laying in my shaking lap. I stared at this plan hospital waiting room. I hated hospitals. Nothing special happens here. Except for babies being born. The only worst thing from waiting in a hospital for someone is laying on those uncomfortable cots with many tubes sticking inside your weak body. I sighed heavily and stared at Selena's sleeping figure on my lap. She was fast asleep and she needed it as much as I needed it. She was stirring in her sleep. Often mumbling "Joe". I smiled at myself lightly. I knew the day I walked into Selena's house this morning that something was going on between those two. The way Joe almost busted into green from me giving Selena a friendly kiss on the cheek. The way he would stare at her would make their love a tell all book. It was only me and Selena in this stuffy room. Usually there would be my parents and Frankie, but they're in Texas. There coming by in the next few days. Demi wasn't here for sure. No one knows for sure actually. She didn't run away. She just moved to another state to rid herself of drama. Then there was Miley. I blinked back tears that were forcing themselves through my eyelids. Miley was in Tennessee and she took my kids with her. That wasn't fair to me at all. Of course me burning those thick papers asking for a divorce weren't going to change a damn thing. Everything would stay the same. It was hard walking around my house and seeing numerous pictures of me and Miley together. Many of them contained us kissing or hugging, some love gesture. The other portions has the children with me and Miley. It was like basic hell in my house, until I escaped from the pain. "Nick?" A small voice asked. I stopped staring into oblivion and stared at Selena who was below me. Her head still in my lap and her brunette eyes asking many questions. She sighed and heaved herself of my lap. She sat upright in the cushioned waiting room chairs. She folded her small hands in her lap. She began fiddling with her fingers. "You were about to question me Selena?" She sighed. "Why would Joe overdose? Its so sudden. Its like déjà vu. I don't want what happened to my mother happened to him. Never.." She asked me quietly. I sighed. I examined her face and saw tears fall from her eyes. "No crying allowed, Selly." I said sweetly while wiping her tears away with my thumb. She giggled with a small smile. The small smile disappeared once she realized the other topic. "Can you please answer me, Nick?" I sighed. "I don't know, Selena. Maybe he wants to-" She clamped her hands over her ears. Her beautiful face scrunching up as she tightened her tan eyelids. "Dont! Dont say that word to me Nicholas! By all thats holy I promise you that I'll kick you were it hurts!" She threatened me. The nurse cranked her neck over the counter and stared at Selena oddly. I grabbed onto Selena's wrist and pulled her hands off her ears. I stared at the nurse who was still staring at us and whispered loudly. "Selena Marie have you gone ballistic? We are in a hospital for crying out loud. Lower your voice." She scowled at me and crossed her arms across her chest. "Never say that word to me Nicholas. I stand by my promises. You know that for damn sure." I sighed and reached my long arms over to Selena's brave body and pulled her into a hug. I murmured. "Right now all you have is me, Selly. I'm not telling you to kiss me or fall in love with me. I'm asking that if something happens to Joe, that we'll look after each other. Do you agree?" She nodded and barely whispered. "Thanks Nicholas." I smiled and closed my eyes. Hopefully Selena isn't the only person I have left..
