RARE VIDEO- First BJJ Victory for Rudy "Rudini" Fischmann

This match from circa 2001-2002 features a white belt level Rudy "Rudini" Fischmann. While the match does have its moments of excitement, it is largely uneventful. We post it simply because it is the first match that the M3 Fight and Fitness Head Instructor ever won as a fresh white belt. He had competed actively prior to this but always got smashed. Things started to turn around for him with this points, victory, in fact he would go on to win a couple more matches and place third at this particular tournament... The American Nationals.

While his competition record as a Blue Belt was mixed before accomplishing a stunning competition record as a Purple Belt of 17-1. Fischmann would win the Senior No-Gi World Championships as a Featherweight Brown Belt and Represented the USA at the 2009 FILA World Championships in the 66kg division as a Black Belt.

This rare video (most of his matches were not taped) demonstrates how anyone can accomplish notable things with a little perseverance and hard work. Fischmann understands as well as any, the frustration of the early years of BJJ training where it seems like every one beats up on you. That's why he encourages a friendly, motivating environment in all his classes... you never know when another middle aged guy might turn out to be the next Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champ!
