I can hear the separation and tonality come through this video and I can only imagine when its against the body and in person. I've always been a fan of vintage gibson tone from flat tops to es series. That guitar he built does sing. All the music chords and lines you can play is fully realized once you've played a great guitar.

I really appreciate your generosity in sharing so much detail on the bracing. You're a good man Gary! Not to mention a phenomenal artist/artisan! Thank you.

Rob, that guitar is a steal at $8,000.00. I've seen and heard others that are more expensive and wouldn't come close to that guitar. The depth of the sound does in fact come through in the video. Thanks to you and Gary for posting. ....FR

Thank you so much for posting this wonderful talk between friends.
It is a wonderful guitar.
Best wishes

Fantastic sounding archtop. What kind of strings would you recommend? I gather the 3d string is wound.

@fridrikur This one has bronze light gauge, with a wound 3rd, and I believe the high E is a 12. It plays so easily that I would go with a 14 to 62 set of nickel would strings.

It is $7,995. (A fancy way of saying $8,000.)
I wish I had the beans right now. It would be mine. Hopefully the wood lasts long enough to have him make me one.

very impressing.
did you talk about the price later on? give me a number.

@erimsee Yes, it was $7,995. I had suggested $10,000, but Gary refuses to accept the idea, and I respect that in him very much.
