@Southernjuggalo63 .... You do recognise than many of the soldiers fighting for the Union were poor immigrants conscripted right off the boat or farmers who knew very little about the politics of the time right?
Also, even if they held the ideologies they were fighting for.. hasn't killing for ideologies been a bad thing? Whether it be Christianity, Expansionism, Facism or Communism,
