I know that this is hard to believe since it is not your parrot so that you would know it well enough to interprete each gesture, but if you watch the film muted, maybe you will notice that the social atmosphere of the parrot varies: from royal to having small ones to casual to that of water and finally to a parrot.
Here is how I interprete the story: There were a king and a beautiful queen with their children living in a castle. There were big tables laden with food and knights and young maidens of the castle ate at them. One day (here the parrot comes closer) a herder boy came to a well in the castle's courtyard and looked at the beautiful parrot there - of the last (was it just a parrot there) I am not sure since me parrot interrupted telling the story here.

It appears that as my parrot was in the pet bird shop they had rewardede her by telling her stories. It is during that half a year there that she learned the Finnish language which she speaks (not so well, I admit) and understands (?).

It is hard to see it in a film but since in actual communication it really works, I am forced to believe in animal intelligence. Also my other knowledge about the human thinking ability - it is based on observing how things are and on arranging the memory to form one holistic view of the world, these both are tasks enermously helped by the senses - so theoretically examined animals too ought to have the building blocks of human like intelligence. I just think that some people should voice this possibility about animal intelligence being quite or even extremely high too. That is why I post these videos about my pets (in addition to them being lovely), even though I know that only one's own direct observations about animals typically convinces people. My view is that animals can be taught but they are not educated to match humans.

  • This bird's eyes show interest, not disdain of " la la la, when is the human going to stop blather & give me sum millet?"

I tell my birds stories about 'dynotopia' where humans once and again will live in sentient harmony with other living creatures. The youngest bird listens every night as I sing Unicorn Song. He eyes go wide if I get a forget a part and then a half lidded & content after I correct myself.

    Slainte' bird lovers.
