Ash St. John Previews new Song, Harbinger at Dawn

Just me playing for you in my living room. I would love to hear what you all got to say about this work in progress. Suggestions are welcome! Look for this song on my new record due out spring '11.
Here are the lyrics:
Woke up to the rain pounding overhead, felt like it was speaking to me. I peered at the cracks where the sun reflects your shadow sleeping next to me. The breeze blows in and stirs my imagination.
Summer's sway over us, offers hope where there is none. I can't say that I don't take you for granted. The sea can change overnight, love will fall off behind, you cant say that you don't take me for granted.
I rise up from the sheets and head for the hallway. Still you sleep peacefully. I slip outside to drench my body and drown the noise from deep inside. Its so loud, but at this hour it's more like a whisper.

Ash,

I am liking the direction you are headed with your newest sound. I look forward to hearing it with a finished arrangement. Kris is right it sounds as if it has a bit more of a mainstream rock influence. We love hearing your new stuff and really do wish we could be there for you more often.
