@IStennaI i know my history i grew up listening to elvis my mom was kissed on the hand and given a scarf by him at a concert in 74. You honestly sound like a fat old witch thats what i pictured when i read your comment, im stating the facts, if their were no chuck berry, there would be no elvis and thats the bottom line.the parents at the time were against rnr period the children and teens loved chuck berry white or black. it was the ignorant parents that hated it and they hated elvis
@TheErrol1975 keep believing that and not to write a songs but to make them famous and to be known for them voer the original that takes talent my friend
@diaperbreath why do people with no idea about music post back to me? you do understand without E rnr would have died AMERICA WAS RACIST the world was RACIST and they looked down on rnr so elvis came and made it acceptable to listen to white people and that is something chuck could not do mate it famous to white people and mass market it elvis was the eprfect rnr White with black mans rythm and style for the day DO YOUR HISTORY IDIOT dont bother posting if you know fuck all about them tims idio
@IStennaI i think even elvis would disagree with you on this cheif, im a huge elvis fan, chuck berry did more for rock n roll then anybody, chuck was a innovator with the guitar, and wrote his own songs, elvis had a hell of a voice and made alot of songs his own but he was basically an american idol riding the coat tails of the real artists. he had the looks and the voice and they capitalized on it. chuck berrys the father of rock, elvis is the prince, check your history.
@17405pop. Maybellene is a song adapted from the traditional fiddle tune "Ida Red" by Bob Wills & The Texas Playboys with their 1938 recording. Leonard Chess wanted a bigger beat for the song and added a bass and maracas player to the trio at the recording session. The lyrics were rewritten. It has been claimed that taking old recordings and modifying them, by changing the instrumentals and the lyrics was a common practice in the 1950s.(Wikipedia about Maybellene)
