For a complete lesson on simplifying complex fractions, go to http://www.yourteacher.com - 1000+ online math lessons featuring a personal math teacher inside every lesson! In this lesson, students learn that when simplifying a complex fraction, the first step is to find a common denominator for all the fractions involved, then multiply the numerator and denominator of the complex fraction by the common denominator to get rid of all the fractions in the numerator and denominator. Next, factor the numerator and denominator, and cancel out the factors that are the same.
