  • Kubota does make wheel weights available, so your suggestion is correct. That being said, even though ballasting your tires might be a bit of additional work compared to solid wheel weights, you generally get more ballast weight and traction gains from liquid ballasting - there is only so much room on the rim to attach and support a solid weight.

  • Your best bet is to break the tires off the rims and re-seat the beads with bead sealer. Any tire shop should be able to do this, however, the fluid will need to be removed first, stored and then added back later.

If the leakage continues, the bead areas of the rims may be slightly porous, causing the fluid to escape. The fix in this case would be to install tire tubes in the rear rims and then fill with your antifreeze ballast.

  • You should not use anti-freeze due to environmental problems. Stick to products like RimGuard which is basically beet juice. Won't hurt the ground water, animals, etc.

  • Another method to prevent tire chains or warm tires from melting into ice is to park with the back tires on boards, so the boards may stick but break off of the tires easily.

  • That is really good advice re "reversing first & then go forward". Why not just bolt equal weight steel discs onto the wheels, using extra long bolts? Thanks for sharing.

  • Our Kubota has antifreeze in the rear tires, but it slowly leaks it out around the rims. Any advice?
