Membership site now open: http://retirecheap.tv/members One of the most fun outdoor activities in northern Thailand is cruising around the country roads that wind through the hills around Chiang Mai. And people who like day trips from Chiang Mai will be pleased to know there is one cool option. You can take your own bike or rent a bike and do it yourself on this beautiful 90km all day experience that takes you through excellent mountain views, waterfalls, beautiful gardens, adventure activities, elephant camps, orchid and butterfly farms and places to eat.
Getting away from Chiang Mai's hectic, polluted and slightly dangerous driving conditions is great. Traffic slows to a trickle as the scenery changes from businesses into the lush foothills and eventually deep into the mountainous North Country. This is a gorgeous journey, especially for motorcyclists.
Conditions on the countryside roads are surprisingly good. There are thousands of kilometers of paved and good dirt roads crisscrossing the mountains between Chiang Mai and the Burmese border. You could sleep in guesthouses or camp and have weeks of exploration, giving you an excellent chance to interact with the Thai locals. But for people who do not have the time to do that, the Samoeng Loop is a great option.
Follow along with me for the day and enjoy our journey!

  • Great video JC. I've watched all your vid's and this is one of my favorites. I'm going to Chiang Mai in May for the first time, Can't wait. Keep up the good work mate.

  • @huakwoy No worries. Glad you like the videos.

  • If you go to Pai, Mae Hong Son you have geysers, more waterfalls, ancient wooden coffins, at least a forest monastery and so on. I would love to see more videos like this! Keep up the great work!

  • @RicardoDavid182 Headed back up into the mountains soon. So stay tuned!

  • HI JC, another great video. You know you made everyone envious when you ate all that great food. I love noodle soup. It's one of those meals I always have to find when in Thailand. At present I'm just down the road from you, I'm in Pattaya. Plan on making a trip up to Chang Mai and then over to Loei. Not sure when, I was suppose to make up that way after a month here put I just paid for a second months rent. Love all you videos, you do a great job.
