@tonyfrom29 how effing true you are.... i had the misfortune of being a first hand witness at a general court martial against an officer ( he was a Major ) i witnessed a drunk / belligerent officer beat an enlisted man and set his room on fire. at the trial i was separated in a special room.. i was constantly badgered by officers who kept sneaking in and threating me if i ruined this man career. although i did have a good career in the Marine Corps.. it followed me everywhere.

Retiring at E-6 is a whole lot better than retiring at E-5. When I was in the a nuclear med tech retired at E-5 but that was only because the army had no use for a nuclear med tech with the rank of E-6 - E-9. Its a bit of a shame but I am sure that man is making great money right now doing this job in the civy world.

@JaradMoney ever thought some people try to keep a rank and not advance?
Chest Puller is a fine Example he turned down general once. years later he accepted the rank Lieutenant General and retired as it.
My father did 33 years of Military Service Enlisted Navy and USCG retired at the rank of Chief petty officer or E7
and lets face E9 is nothing but politics then again not a lot of E-9's any ways lol.

as much to see this as a good thing. Its hard as hell to see our beautiful flag to be burned..

I'm a Navy Corpsman who retired from 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing at Cherry Point NC exactly 20 yrs prior to this Marines retirement. Watching this video brought back a whole flood of memories.
I know Marine E-6's don't like to be called this, and we used it anyway's just to "bug"
them. but in this context I mean it as a compliment.

Jarad,
I only served 20yrs not 22, but you are right SSgt is a low rank to retire from but it only takes one Capt Dolphin to ruin your career. Lesson learned: the officer is always right.
