Why did the announcer say, El Geurrouj would have to start his kick with 600 meters to go against 5000 meter runners??? Hicham was the 1500 champ and had superior foot speed to the other runners. El Geurrouj played this one perfectly, and not with 600 meters to go.

I agree with @kozmon0t. I hate 1.5k, 5k, 10k races like that no records will be broken. You dont need to watch whole race but just the last 400. 13:14 is not a high result for them especially for Bekele. Shame on him and good job for El G for kicking the ass of CURRENT 5k world record holder
