Yeh that was one of the many shots cut to get a R rating in the US, instead of the X/NC-17 rating. The fully uncut scene is on the unrated dvd.

Wow, I've seen this movie 100 times, but never saw the shot of his entire right arm being blown off. I guess that was a deleted scene in the original cut.

When I mean continuing shots, i mean like robocop punching that guy, and then you can continue the shot of a car exploding. it makes it better, not boring.

Not really good IMO. I make movies and fan trailers, and if you're going to make a trailer, you can't show much violence, and your shots have to look like they keep continuing.
