i watch videos on halo waypoint saying that halo 3 was the last halo with the big MC or for the noobs mastercheif.

the two series are not linked according to Bungie... there are just too many issues with the timeline...

or maybe a shield world. we know that there are 7 halos in the galaxy, and in the book ghost of onyx, "onyx" was a shield world to protect the forerunners from the fire of the halos. Playng halo wars, probably the planet we found with a sun inside it could be an "onyx"...So 2 onyx found...they could be in total 7...
the question is: what went wrong?

there's a lot of theories about this planet one of them that i think it is a Forerunner coloni or it is a rainbow world
