These spotted hyena cubs were left alone while the older hyenas of the clan were out hunting. Their den is a drainage pipe under the road. A place where in Kruger they often stay. The cubs look good and well fed. The only thing that is left of the male impale are its horns. Good for chewing on !!

  • So very cute!

The spotted hyena is so peculiar: from the time it is a young cub to the time it borders on adulthood, it looks like the model for a stuffed animal, especially when its coat is thick and fluffy. But on reaching adulthood, its neck grows too long for its body, making it ungainly, and its coat thins out—although some older hyenas seem to keep their thick hair (I wonder if these are the higher ranking and therefore better fed hyenas in any given clan?)

    These are still beauties tho'..

  • סחתען לכם!!!!!

  • Thanks, beautiful animals!
