Give Us This Day - David Maslanka (2012 TMEA Region 26 Symphonic Band)

This is a recording of the 2011-2012 TMEA Region 26 Symphonic Band performing David Maslanka's Give Us This Day (Short Symphony for Wind Ensemble) under the direction of Mr. David Bertman, Director of Bands at the University of Houston.

I played tenor saxophone in this performance.

**I think it is worth noting that this performance (as anyone familiar with the region band system knows) was put together in 2 rehearsals over 2 days. Though it was not by any stretch a perfect performance, it is amazing to me (and I have high standards) the quality which this ensemble pulled off this piece, along with the other 2 after so little rehearsal time. Also, people familiar with this piece might notice the different interpretation on the very end. Normally the percussion in dampened, but the conductor decided to let it (mainly the tam-tam) ring to give a different feel than normal. Though it wasn't what I am used to, I thought it was pretty interesting.**
