  • white trousers jazz.

  • I liked both solos. I didn't think that the solos were useless notes. The phrasing was there, it was musical and made sense. Can't speak for others but that's what Comments & Responses is for I guess.

  • they're treating it in a far more bop fashion, rather than gypsy. a gypsy solo over this would probably be much more lick-oriented, whereas here they're free to phrase their ideas. this is pinnacle of improv; the pure act of playing what's solely in your head, and not a bunch of prepared cliches. i will always love gypsy music nevertheless.

  • Great playing, but seriously, Andres needs to stop shopping at the kids clothing section.

    Awesome video!

  • great ideas from Oberg especially - I'm stealing some of this stuff. Thanks.

  • FANTASTIC !

  • @Blackes57 that's the way the gypsy's do it..."auf dem zigeuner art", ich denke

  • @Stingerfyle You're bored? Maybe you've chosen the wrong genre of music to listen to, may I recommend Kenny G.

Try being factual instead of opinionated. That will go a long way in developing your credibility. Yes as a soloist Wawau does rock, but he loses his place while playing rhythm. At about 2:01 after Fm7-Bbm-Eb7-Ab maj7-Db maj7 Wawau should go to a G7 to C maj7, he has a train wreck spots a vamp for a three bars on the wrong chord, then finds his place at Cm7.

    Just the facts ma'am!

  • @Tarabos1 It would help if Wawau set a nice and consistent groove for Andreas to follow (see my previous post). People that say things like they're bored with Andreas' soloing are not thinking with their ears. And they're missing the fact that Wawau was showboating and losing his place during Andreas' soloing. It's a shame because they're both extraordinary players. I agree though that Andreas will be one of the best, and if he continues to grow, he's in contention for the all time best.

  • This is the second Wawau and Andreas video I've seen, the other was Blue Bossa. Thanks for the post. But what's the deal with Wawau? Is he intentionally offering poor accompaniment? At the beginning of Andreas' solo Wawau wasn't playing the changes. Okay, I'm going to err on the side of alcohol. Maybe Wawau had one too many and lost his place. I'm not taking anything away from Wawau's soloing, he hasn't shown me on either video that he knows how accompany a soloist without being an impediment.

  • @PsychoSidVicious Man, that comment was from two years ago... Anyway, I've grown more accustomed to gypsy jazz but I still think just sixteenth notes are pretty boring. Check out Bireli Lagrene. A great shredder but also with tasteful riffs and interesting harmonic ideas. Either that or my ears aren't capable to hear the nuances in Andreas' playing
