Lyle Lovett calls for the protection of the Flint Hills Tallgrass Prairie, North America's most endangered ecosystem now threatened by industrial wind development. This excerpt is from the film Last Stand of the Tallgrass Prairie, produced by Inland Sea Productions. Used with permission.
Wind mills are ruining the Flint Hills. Brush is growing around them and spreading to the rest of the prairie. They also have made the prairie chicken leave. Our family has a ranch near Beaumont, KS and we hate the wind mills.
I grew up spending summers in the Flint Hills. They are the most awesome and under appreciated place on earth. I now live in Tennessee and have spent over $2000 per acre to try to copy it and I'm not even close.
