"Promise not to hurt my egg?" And he's thinking, "As soon as she puts that thing down, omlette. I haven't eaten once this whole movie."

i think all thease slow shots represent that time never passes.there is no past present or future.even though we know that there was a past from all the ruins. But now everything is stuck in a time that repeats forever.

i feel so sorry for that girl shes protected that egg for weeks and that man comes along and brakes it whyd the hell what reason did he have to have to do that

If this IS about the Author's falling out with Christianity, perhaps he meant to show her the thruth, even if it meant shattering her hope... I don't know, but I'm still crying.
None of it makes sense to my mind, but my soul/emotions seem to have understood it. It tends to be the other way around with thev sort of art I watch (Sci Fi stuff, for example, which is more "thought-ish" by nature... the SciFi and mindfuck genres tend to coincide, but this is an exception... :()

The man's character is so ambiguous... They gave him such a nice guy voice... He seemed to care for the little girl... but he still breaks the egg...
Then again, he said this "You'll never know what's inside if you don't open it" thing... maybe he somehow did it for what he thought was her good... The mystery is part of it's charm and meaning, but it's still a bit depressing that we will never know...

At the end of the clip I was like on the edge of my seat like "NO!! WTF ARE YOU DOING!? STOP!! YO, STOP!!!".

I'm honestly getting sleepy from the slow pace, so it's hard to pay attention to the philosophical aspects of the movie. -.-

@jedancovek wat do u mean?

to be fair, though i find it totally pervy too! he seems to be regreting what he is doing, at 4:34 he seems to have a caring look when he unwraps her hand from her shirt
and, when they show her stone statue holding the egg, he looks at it in a sad way, that's what i see
though i think the whole crushing of the egg symbolism is a little violent, whew

I thought the same thing, the whole story of the horizon turned black and the dreaming bird made me think he was sent to find the new egg, to prevent destruction from happening again and destroying the egg to kill hte monster inside it....he seemed to be afraid of what was inside the egg
the men chasing shadows was weird though?! i so don't want to understand that!
