A short video about my surroundings while growing up in Hamilton Ontario Canada. Originally produced on Hi8 tape then transferred to VHS then to digital. It looks like it; but the analogue textures are still quite amazing! Original soundtrack on my Korg MS10 and poetry reading in the background. Kind of grim. I cut out the 2 and a half minute autumn sunrise so it would fit and make sense on YouTube.
Most of the these 'locations' don't exist anymore: houses torn down, closed factories, dead people, but its quite a history. Hamilton then (1984/5) embodied the whole of the US rust belt in its grey brown glory and rusted enterprise and I breathed it all in. Hack, cough, hack... Enjoy
