Why was Dame Kiri Te Kanawa singing outside instead of inside in the 2010 Last Proms?

At 67 years young, her voice is still refreshing to hear. My favorite Soprano by far...known for her technique, her grace, and her humanity as a loving and kind person. Thank you sir for posting this.

i know nothing about opera but the first time i heard this in a film called a room with a view i wept.years later i stick on the bbc and this comes on .i wept....beautifull.
