The guy who designs these Livewire modules is a real Star Trek geek isn't he? The Vulcan Modulator, The Matter/Anti-Matter Switches on the AFG, etc.
If Gene Roddenberry was still alive, I could see him suing for royalties. :)
It seems like a nice module though and looks to be fairly well constructed except for those trim pots.

James, Can't you just change the dropping resistor to a larger value to dim the LED's to your liking, instead of nail polish????

Jeeeez, that brightness is AFTER you applied the nail polish? That's harsh on the eyes as is. I can't imagine what it's like by default.
Besides that, this module seems pretty cool!

Yeah, they are very bright normally. The nail polish is not completely opaque though; it's not like white [wall] paint or anything.
It did hurt the eyes when you look directly into it. It didn't bother me *too* much, but it was basically necessary to dull them somehow for the video, because it was way too much for the camera.
The camera still does exaggerate it a bit. I'm now able to look directly at the LEDs comfortably, just like other LEDs.
