  • After tensioning the wire to the end you will have 300+' of wire under tension and + or - 6' slack. Pulling as much slack out by hand will really only introduce 1-2" of additional slack to the section. As you remove the stretcher bars the rest of the section will absorb the slack. 2" over 300' has virtually no impact on the total tensioning.

    If it is a very short section, make sure your stretcher bar ends up very close to the end post to eliminate excess slack- less wire to absorb slack.

  • Q-if you are stretching from the end post, how do you avoid losing tension when you tie off and remove the stretcher?
