VDO Boost Gauge w/ Perfect Match Lighting 1.8t GLI

Just got this installed. Surprised to see I'm hitting 17PSI! With only two mods - APR-R1 DV and K&N Filter.

So definitely getting a APR DV valve and K&N drop-in filter for the A4 if your getting that kinda boost! Just purchased the A4 in process of getting oil sludge problem fixed!

i have an 05 jetta gli. i have an R1 DV apr TIP and Carbonio CAI. i just installed the same boost guage on my car and im only holding 10psi and spiking around 12. i was told the only way to get numbers beyond that would be a chip. that car has to be chipped..

I don't know why I'm boosting that much. As I stated earlier it was my understanding that the jetta gli's came with a k03(s) turbo. It is supposed to have about 11 psi stock from what I've read. The regular k03 is supposed to be 9psi stock. You should be boosting more. I haven't done any new mods and I installed the gauge myself. Maybe the reading is off? I don't know but it still give me a good idea of what the turbo is doing and how it's functioning. I want more mods soon hopefully!

i just added an APR 5 program chip this weekend and im now holding 19psi with a spike of 21psi on 93 oct.. My VW Mechanic friend told me that was reallly good and his only held 17-18psi chipped. he thinks it was the TIP that added the extra boost. i noticed when i go to higher elevation i boost 1-3 psi more than where i live (98 feet above sea level). Keep up the good work lol and keep 'er boostin!!

Huh, I've never heard of the APR 5 chip. I was going to go with an APR 91 octane chip since it's hard to find anything higher than that where I live. I'm thinking about getting it chipped and doing a 2.5 TB or Cat back. Possibly some additional intake mods like throttle body. I definitely have the need for more speed. I suppose you'd boost more at higher altitudes since the air is more condensed. Happy Boosting Brethren.

i'm hitting 23 psi witn no mods lol, so bad for the turbo. overboosting for some reason.

yes i got stock,91,93,100 and Fault Code Erase/Throttle Body Alignment. ECS has a spring sale going on it was an awsome mod. i just ordered GHL 3" DP and i am deleting my resonater until i can afford a cat-back ill post some vids after install my camera has been messed up. Thanks for the reply.

The car is definitly chipped. I'm guessing APR's 93 octane, or Unitronics stage 1. I say this because those are the only two chips that give you about that psi.

Clean out your mass air flow sensor with MAF cleaner. You can pick it up at your local car store.

This will spike your PSI to 21 and hold steady at 18.
