Feed the cows the mash from corn ethanol, reform the ethanol into hydrogen and carbon dioxide. Use the hydrogen in EVERY THING. Better yet... Feed the starving people most of the corn and soy beans, switch farm equipment to run off wind by splitting water. And we all lived happily ever after... and we save the ethanol for everclear parties.

Too little, too late? It would probably not be possible for the tens of thousands of needed measures to be identified in a coherent speech, let alone be implementable in one blow. So, the third, unstated, non-extreme response is the one to go for. "Balance" doesn't just mean quoting extremists with equal weight, but also stating the objective center position.
