Our 11 hour train journey from Tokyo to Sapporo was partly by the famous Shinkansen. Speeding out of Tokyo at 180mph. The trains look fast when they are still a the platform. There's many different looking ones now. It was a long journey but wel worth it. Sapporo is a great city to visit. The Shinkansen took us half the way and two slower trains got us to Sapporo in 11 hours total travelling time.

  • Does it go directly to Tokyo? I live in Sapporo right now as an exchange student, and I might be going to Tokyo in December, so I`m a little curious.

  • They are currently building a shinkansen railway between islands i think so you will be able to soon. At present you get a couple of slower trains to the north of the main island then get the shinkansen down to tokyo. The entire journey tales 11 hours but it's very scenic and enjoyable!

  • i dig the music ... what is it???

  • I'm pretty sure it's "Where Are You Going" by Makoto. Taken from the mix album "Progression Sessions 8" by LTJ Bukem.

  • oh yeah I can go in my space ship US to Japan in 1 hour

  • yeah i done that journey aswell, i went from Nagoya all the way to bloody Sapporo. And then my stupid friend made me wait an hour in Ainosato station becasue he was having a Dormitory meeting.

I nice women let me steal her window seat on the Shinkansen, and then she bought me a sandwich when we got on the train to Hakata.

Seriously though they should hurry up with the new shinkansen tracks.

  • its sort of an acid jazz/trance type of beat

  • Dude really good job mixing train travel with acid jazz. I particularly like how you saved the faster part of the beat toward the end.

  • Be sure to take some video. I look forward to seeing any footage you have :o)

  • I forgot to mention my journey started in Gifu so it was even longer for me. While travelling on the Ltd.Epxss the train changed direction and everyone got up to swivel their seats around to face the other way, it seems the Japanese like to face the way they're going :-). I will return to Sapporo in February to see the Snow Festival...subarashii!
