  • Learn to shift better man... Hitting the limiter before changing gear isn't good hey..

  • @goowa69 no fucking shit sherlock.

  • Ah sounds so nice, I guess its safe to push them like this? i mean i haven't taken mine past 5000rpm :P

  • this was my first car, so as you would expect it got pushed to it's limit almost all the time :P but yes they are an extremly strong motor and can take this kind of beating 24/7, these engines were build identical to the BDA cosworth race motor and were built mainly for high revs. I've seen one of these motors with around 400,000k'ms on it and it was stil going strong after being beaten within an inch of it's life on a daily basis. if ur only taking it to 5k then ur not even hiting the powerband

  • my car copped that kind of punishment for about 1 1/2 years, but the main thing is to keep them fresh all the time i.e change oil water and all other fluids frequently, that's the key to keeping these motors alive.

  • the power band is between 4500rpm-7000rpm depending if u have the smallport non-tvis or the tvis motor, check out some of my other vids in my profile theres plenty more of my car getting flogged :P. go take ur twinky upto limiter in first and second gear and come back and tell me what you think :P

unfortunately for me i made the mistake of selling the car for peanuts, so now i regret it but i managed to pick up an elcheapo ae82 sedan for now. ill have another twinky soon tho.. i hope.

    peace.

  • sound like a big port

  • My 4age engine felt flat and lifeless, Honda D16a9 engine is far better imho @idontknowu42

  • these engines love to be thrashed

  • i would of faved this vid if it was an ae86 trueno =]

  • the corolla engine is one of the best ever built, ive driven a $200 restored (original engine) one and they just go and go until you run out of fuel, not when the motor blows up like in a normal car XD

  • i love these engines. seriously.

Im running a 4AGE blue-hat largeport in my MR2...256/267 cams, gutted tvis, straight pipe exhaust, louder then a crap biscuit and it FLYS like stink. I love it.
