This is a story that aired on OETA Public Television's The Oklahoma News Report in Tulsa Oklahoma as reported by Angela Rosecrans and photojournalist Edwin Wilson. For more information or to contact us, please go to the new and improved www.oeta.tv

The verbatim script follows below...

MOMS AND MOM'S TO BE RUMMAGE THROUGH THE MERCHANDISE LOOKING FOR A BARGAIN. AND WITH MORE THAN 58-THOUSAND SQUARE FEET OF KIDS CLOTHES,. MATERNITY CLOTHES, SHOES, STROLLERS, AND EVEN BICYCLES... THEY'RE SURETO FIND A FEW THINGS.

"my husband just called me and said how much are you spending...."

"its a good time to save money and come out and get stuff instead of go to the mall and spend 30 or 40 dollars when you come here and get it for 12." THE "JUST BETWEEN FRIENDS" CONSIGNMENT SALE IS AN EVENT HELD EVERY FALL AND SPRING. THIS WEEK MORE THAN 12-THOUSAND PEOPLE ARE EXPECTED AT THE EVENT HERE AT EXPO SQUARE. AND THEY'RE WILLING TO WAIT A LONG TIME TO SAVE A FEW BUCKS.

"really it's cheaper you get really good deals find good stuff toys clothes for the kids cuz they grow so fast." EVENT CO-FOUNDER SHANNON WILBURN SAYS THEY STARTED "JUST BETWEEN FRIENDS" IN HER GARAGE IN 1997 WITH 17 CONSIGNORS.... AND THEY'VE GROWN EVERY YEAR SINCE.

"and this is a record breaking event for us because of the space we have we were able to allow more consigners and so we actually have close to 1500 consignors this time." KANEKO GRAY IS ONE OF THE MANY VOLUNTEERS THAT HELP MAKE THIS EVENT WORK. NOW EXPECTING ANOTHER CHILD SHE WAS ABLE TO SHOP FOR EVERYTHING SHE NEEDED FOR A NEW BABY....BUT SHE STARTED OUT AS A CONSIGNOR.

"i made some good money I did and I had a lot of good clothes my daughter has a lot of clothes so it was just nice to get the things out of the house and get really good prices for it back instead of a garage sale where I'd have to sell them for $1 or $2." AND IN THIS ECONOMY THESE SHOPPERS ARE TRYING TO MAKE THAT DOLLAR STRETCH.

"you gotta make your dollar go as far as it can these days especially with the economic conditions and this is just one of the best ways we found we could do it and babies grow so fast so this is one of those ways you can keep em in clothes," WILBURN SAYS THE POPULAR EVENT IS A WIN-WIN FOR EVERYONE.

"this year at Just Between Friends I really feel like we have lots more shoppers and lots more consigners because of the economy. "JUST BETWEEN FRIENDS" CONSIGNMENT SALE IS ALSO BEING HELD AT THE COX PAVILION IN OKLAHOMA CITY THIS WEEK BUT THERE ARE NINE FRANCHISE LOCATIONS ACROSS THE STATE THAT WILL ALSO BE HOLDING FALL SALES. IN ALL, THE EVENT HAS 95 FRANCHISES IN 20 STATES. IN TULSA, ANGELA ROSECRANS, THE OKLAHOMA NEWS REPORT.
