No that's the biggest advantage of using a SSD,if you do that to a HD you'' have a paper weight.I am installing one in my pc that I am putting in my car.
He did'nt list the biggest disadvantage of Solid state over magnetic disk, longevity. NAND (Not And) flash has quite a short lifespan compared with a magnetic or optical drive. If you want proof, buy a new USB flash drive and use it with Microsoft Readyboost all the time your Vista machine is running, see just how long it lasts, compare that with the normal HDD based paging which goes on all the time in Vista (with affordable amounts of RAM)
On another note, you can disable page filing in Windows 7. It actually boosts SSD performance.

Well that all depends because an MLC drive can take only 10K read write cycles while an SLC drive can take over 100K.

If I had the money I would raid 0 two 128gb SSDs. Hope to see a price drop soon.

I really despise marketing speak, but am really looking forward to, one day, buying a notebook with a 100 gig SSD.
