peachbeachsouth, you are correct in that "you can't" live like that. Attempting to do so in our own stregnth is a work of the flesh and it's called self-reliance. To think that we can accomplish the abundant life by what we do is simply foolish and religious. We already posses the abundant life in HIM. This life is not determined by what we feel or think of ourselves, it has already been determined by what God declared in His word that we are.

This guy preaches and lives Jesus. Just ask some of the students he takes out with him on the streets. Honour has it's place in the christian lifestyle.

Motivation to love and honor others comes from Christ alone, and what HE's done on the Cross for us. - THAT'S the perspective, The Cross of Christ.
We love and honor others because when we were unloving, miserable, ungodly, children of God's wrath, HE came and and gave us new life. So now nothing others do can effect us because we are in Him and He in us and He's given of His Spirit. The outworking of His Spirit enables us to, in return love others.
