Should Conservatives continue to trust the Republican Party and try to reform it, or should Conservatives start their own "Conservative Party" based on the the First Principles of Liberty (Fred Thompson ran on those principles, and The Heritage Foundation publishes research papers based on those principles)?

thank you,unfortunately our country has been commercialized,materialized,mi­nimized(into apathy & political correctness & egocentrism), & dumbed down to the point that most will elect anyone that says what they want to hear w/o any evidence that the person would ever fulfill promises made. From that we've gotten an over abundance of do nothing politicians that care only about themselves & nothing about the good of this country & have no skills if & when they do care to do something significant

I get your point. I just strongly believe that we a elected a leader not a campaigner, and if the man would be a great leader with great governing principles and great policies, then that should be how we choose our President. But I do get your point.

Your point has been understood & repeated ad nauseam. Understand mine so we can at least get on the same page. I've been in 100% commission sales in the past & I was very good. For some, it would not matter if they had the best product at the best price, they still could not sell anything & they would fail==> because you must sell yourself 1st! Fred could not get the true conservatives behind him because he lacked the qualities I mentioned 2 emails ago that were real obvious in Newt/Reagan, duh!

And my point was that because Fred had the same governing principles and the same type of policies and program as Newt does, so Newt didn't have to get in. About getting out of the starting blocks, all Conservatives had to do was get behind the true conservative (Fred) and that would have helped him get out of the starting blocks.

I am fine with Fred being himself & I didn't like Bob Dole either.That wasn't the point. The point in context was clearly that Bob was better than his opponent in every way, yet did not win.Fred is better than Osama Obama & McCain put together,BUT Fred did not even make it out of the starting blocks! This is the huge problem here!Hello!I know Newt would be leaving Obama in his smoke by now,but all we have is smoke and mirrors from two losers! And the biggest loser is the USA over the next 4 yrs

At least we agree that Fred had the right leadership and governing principles to be President. And I don't like Bob Dole, and I don't think he was have made a very good President (too moderate). I liked Fred's down to earth southern looks, energy, finesse, charisma, and sanguine persona. EVERY political pundit that said Fred didn't have the energy is dead wrong. Did Fred portray that energy the way they wanted him to? No, he was himself, and I'm glad he was himself and not someone else.

YOU obviously didn't understand what I wrote! I NEVER said Fred wouldn't have made a great President based on his principles/values.I suppose Bob Dole would have made a much better President than who he ran against, but we have sh'heads in this country that vote for color, good looks, cheesy acts, Sax players, & empty promises.Fred might have been in Newt/Reagan circles but minus the looks, energy, finesse, charisma, and sanguine persona.I have seen Newt in action when he really wants something
