  • As requested, I have uploaded this fifth part again. For some reason, many YouTubers cannot watch the fifth part I uploaded few weeks ago. I hope that this time the clip works fine for everyone! If not, let me know!

  • I have just finished reading the book for the nth time and it seems to me that Charles and Sebastian love one another in very much the way Cara describes to Charles in Venice. I think it is a mistake to sexualise it and I think the series got it exactly right.

  • Most of the commentators that appear on the documentary--men of their age as they are--miss the timeless point of the novel. Interestingly neither "Lady Marchmain" nor "Cordelia" nor "Bridey" are interviewed here. The central point to the story is made clear in its final episode, and it is NOT love or "blind" faith. But the commentators-of all people-cannot get past the Charles-Sebastian and Charles-Julia relationships. What would Evelyn Waugh write about their politically correct comments?

  • I have always loved the series (bought first on VHS then DVD) but had never seen this. Just watched all 5 parts and just wanted to say thanks for posting otherwise I may never have had a chance to watch it!
