http://missouriquiltco.com -- Jenny Doan shows how to make a the fast and easy Double Slice Quilt using Layer Cakes.

*** The pattern using this block is inspired by the great gals over at Pie Plate Patterns - Brenda & Bonnie Bailey ( http://www.pieplatepatterns.com/ ). • @CharlieB722 I think it is a great one for scrappy! And your idea of throwing in solids too, is great!! I think it will be perfect for your niece!! Just enjoy the process, she is going to love it!

  • I just finished making a quilt like this!!! I made a rag quilt version and it looks amazing (in my opinion anyway). I'm uploading a video of it and I'll link it as soon as it finishes loading. Thanks for the tutorial!! :D

  • Also, I thought incorporating some solids would be a good idea just to break up all the different patterns and themes I'll have going on. Do you think that would work? Thank you!

  • I so enjoy all of your tutorials! Thank you for making them for us! I have a quick question. I am making a quilt for my 7 year old niece. i tried to persuade her into some of the adorable precut fabrics, but she wanted a total mishmash of themes and colors (kitties and soccer for instance). So, I've been left to figure out a scrappy pattern for this. I am new to quilting so I need something simple and that she will like. Do you think this pattern would work for a truly scrappy quilt? Thanks!

  • @moonbeam5003 I think it would be great as a rag quilt! You'll have to send pics when you are finished!! I would love to see it!!

  • @helpmeethines Thank you!! So glad you like them!

  • Good pace easy to follow

  • Your videos/tutorials are THE BEST....even my 2yr old enjoys watching them....Thanks for the happy attitude too; looks like you enjoy what you do & it comes through....

  • I want to just reach through the screen and steal the two quilts. I LOVE them! I can't wait to do this!!!

  • Do you think this pattern would work well as a rag quilt? From what I can visualize in my head I think it will work out fine...thanks for any feedback.
