As long as there has been a Wimberley, Texas, people have talked about its famous Blue Hole, a spring-fed natural pool shaded by giant cypress trees. With lots of volunteer work, donations, and government grants, the old swimming hole is now part of the Blue Hole Regional Park, what will be a sprawling community park with its own hiking trail, soccer fields, pavilion, tennis courts, and picnic areas. One June 11, 2011, the newly improved Blue Hole opened to the public.
