This is an "outtake" of Chic's Funny Bone, originally the last track from their second studio album, the massive, platinum-selling hit C'est Chic (1978; US#4, UK#2). This instrumental snippet was released only in 2010 on the Chic Organisation's Box Set.
@invisempire the version you're talking about is on C'est Chic (78) as the OP stated above...this happens to be an outtake which could've been one of various takes before recording the final cut...

Maybe a more appropriate name for this would've been "Funky Bone", no one else like Chic, a one of a kind group, indeed...
