Here is a short version of a documentary film on Lawrence, KS legend White Owl. A longer version of the movie is soon to follow in 09'. Created by Bart Vandever, Sandell Stangl, Michael Marsden, and Michael Edmonds.
I remember we used to get a bunch of people together and go into his basement, he had like a recording studio in there, and we would all just jam out. That was probably like 2003 or 2004.
I know him as Saul, or hawk-eyed Saul also. I knew him from Kansas City, Missouri. He was my neighbor for about a year. I would hang out over with him at his house everyday. He's an awesome person. I moved to california about 4 years ago, and I've only heard from him a few times since. I was wondering how he was doing. Looks like he hasn't changed much.
one night I was in my apartment feeling a little bit troubled, and this man, who was staying with my nextdoor neighbor, stood outside my window and began singing a song of inspiration. A love song. I got up went outside and asked him what he was doing! He said, "singing you a song". "what for" i asked. " Spirit asked me to", he said grinning thru his beard. I know him as Sol. Thanks man! We think of you often here in Venice Beach Ca.! I hope someone there says hello to you!
You are an inspiration and a wonderful man!!!

That was pretty cool! I never would've thought he had such deep motives. You tell his story well.
