A trio of leased EMD SD40-2 locomotives haul the Canadian Pacific's "589" train to the west on the Chicago subdivision. The train passes next to an old metal bridge support structure for what was once a second main line track.

I chose to capture the train's late day shadows by placing one camera on the "dark side." Came out OK, I think. Some time, when the light is right, I'll have to set up all the cameras on the shadowy side.

  • I caught him just by complete chance at the Hwy 26 crossing north of Forreston. I was headed to Mt Morris to visit a friend and he caught me as I was southbound on 26.

  • @trainsmaniac2009 Neat, Andrew, and thanks for watching.

  • nice catch and long 589! like the clanking sound of the rails!

  • @IAISrailfanner It was double track most of the way from what I understand.

  • Either there was once a siding here or this line was once double tracked.Nice to know that the line was double tracked.
