Artist: Opeth
Song: Face Of Melinda
Album: Still Life

Lyrics:

By the turnstile beckons a damsel fair
The face of Melinda 'neath blackened hair
No joy would flicker in her eyes
Brooding sadness came to a rise

Words would falter to atone
Failure had passed the stepping stone
She had sworn her vows to another
This is when no-one will bother

And conceded pain is crumbling mirth
A harlot of God upon the earth
Found where she sacrificed her ways
That hollow love in her face

Still I plotted to have her back
The contentment that would fill the crack
My soul released a fluttering sigh
This day fell, the darkness nigh

I took her by the hand to say
All faith forever has been washed away
I returned for you in great dismay
Come with me far away to stay

Endlessly gazing in nocturnal prime
She spoke of her vices and broke the rhyme
But baffled herself with the final line
My promise is made but my heart is thine

  • This song is a journey in the mind

  • @206Shane It sure is, my friend... but be careful not to get lost :)

  • I had a 100% real eargasm... no joke... I thought they were just a myth.

  • @KyleJPie10 Eheh, those happen quite frequently when you listen to Opeth carefully. Careful not to faint, though.

  • Best quality I've heard of it on Youtube..thank you much for sharing this great song with us.

  • @banmen0w Many thanks, my friend. It's my pleasure to share the art.

  • This is one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded, even though it has a really dark theme. Opeth fucking rules!!!

  • que canción!

  • -THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING SONGS I EVER HEARD-

  • @TheCrazycandygirl101 I am Swedish, and I fail to see why a Swedish person should need to first write something in Swedish, then translate it into English, instead of simply writing it in English in the first place. Translating poetry is virtually impossible without important undertones being lost, yes, but I highly doubt that this piece of art was translated.

  • this is more then art ....
