NOOD is National Offshore One Design racing.

I raced on "Big Kahuna" a J30 owned by Larry Christy. I was a BNF Trimmer. The "Brand New Fellow" trimming sails and adding the weight of my opinion to the windward rail.

No, we didn't have to.

There were some shallow parts, but we missed them. More like sand bars than reefs.

Thanks. It was a whole lot more athletic of an event than I expected. I have sailed a great deal, but this was racing and racing is very different.

What a life! My Dad had a motorboat on the Chain of Lakes when I was a kid, but it was basically a bar-hopping day when he went out!
