When i used to play table tennis i used to do that serve, i was the only one in the competition who did that lol, dindt know it had a name and stuff.

when you safe return this serve it usually gives trouble (because of its heavy spin) to the server when he un-expects it, see how kenta overshoots it

It can generates good spin as well as excellent swing. But easy to return once you d read the opponent's bat.

The tomahawk serve can produce different types of spin, therefore, it is not possible to return the serve each time with the same motion.
