A short video journey along the 18 months it took us to restore a bent and rusting red wreck into a race car for the World's ultimate tarmac rally - Targa Tasmania. This video is missing a lot, as you can imagine with a complete restoration, but it does contain footage of the day we bought the car right up to the recently completed Targa Wrest Point 2010 tarmac rally - without a crash.
We need to recognise John Biggelaar (near Launceston) our amazing restorer, and the boys at Gorringes (in North Hobart), who took on a monumental mechanical task and succeeded. And of course my wife and kids who have shown understanding, tolerance and passion.

  • Thanks for your fantastic compliments ... and we completely agree. These old US muscle cars are probably the most beautiful made, and the '73 is completely underated. We have to keep these alive and kicking for our kids to enjoy. Thanks for watching.

  • I will own one of them one day and keep these beautiful cars alive, sucks that I cant aford one now. =/

  • @89Eaglesons Never lose the dream. It took me till I was almost 40 years old to get this one, and 3 years to restore. Time makes it all the sweeter! Thanks for watching.

  • Great Video! I'm actually about half way done restoring a 73 Coupe with my father. Interior, engine, and drivetrain all done. Just a matter of the long, grueling body work!

  • @tommay11 Great stuff. Enjoy the journey. Our body work was hampered by the car being rear ended and poorly repaired. I hope yours is OK. We have raced ours a couple of times, and are improving it as I type. I will have the latest resto vid up in a few weeks, and I hope you have time to look again. Post a vid response if you can, I would love to look at your project.

  • Sweet, but be careful fokes! I had one with the 351 big block in 1986 , way way out of balance , veary dangerious on a weat road! Drive mine every day for 21 years now.Luv it . Just respect the power.

  • @YoYoJes Thanks for watching. After we finish this current resto, we shoud have a pile more power too. In a couple of months we should have it on the dyno and will post the new resto vid. Keep an eye out for us.

  • Great job. What a beautiful piece of machinery. The early mustangs were some of the prettiest pieces of automotive history ever to come out of Detroit. You should be very proud of your efforts. From what I see you did an outstanding job restoring it.

  • Nice mustang got a 1971 Mach 1 withe 351c and 1972 Mach 1 with a 460 in it

  • Amazing video, thank you so much.
