More from the famous lost series of short sound films of banjo whiz Hezekiah Urastus Anderton, who just happens to be my great-grand father. He is accompanied on this occasion by bones player Cornelius Jeremiah Pretzl, who just happens to be the great-great grandfather of my friend and fellow youtube musician Kyle Pretzl. An amazing series of co-incidences, I'll grant you. Sometimes things like that just happen.

The cinematographer on this 1897 date was Thomas Edison's step-nephew, Elmer Edison.

  • I wish you could have used an authentic recording device. (:

  • Not only did they not have sound on film technology, they didn't have color unless each frame was hand painted.

    Totally ridiculous fake.

  • I think I hear one of those new fangled horseless carriages in the background.

  • Fun! I have to say the acting is amazing, Kyler ... errrrr ... Cornelius has the same full range of expression as Charles Bronson! Nice one guys :)

  • @grangeville46 they did have sound in 1897 even in the 1880s

  • Them boys could sure play. My grandpappy didn't mind at all that Hezekiah "Plunk" Anderton kept killin' his cats, since he put those cat skins to such good use on his banjo.

  • @grangeville46 Ya think? Here's a cookie, now go away.

  • pertty sure this aint from 1897.. they didnt have sound back in those days.. the reason for the term slient move ..
