"Images from Science - Wissenschaftsbilder" --
The exhibition "Images from Science - Wissenschaftsbilder" (7th August - 24th September 2009, Braunschweig) was based on the collection "Images from Science 2" brought together by Prof. Michael Peres and Prof. Andrew Davidhazy from the internationally recognized School of Photographic Arts and Sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), U.S.A.. This travelling exhibition had its first and yet only stop in Europe and presented about 60 exciting contemporary images from the fields of astronomy, engineering, physics, medicine, and biology. The images had been made with techniques ranging from conventional macro photography and high-speed photography via radiography to scanning force microscopy, and they provided fascinating insights into areas not usually accessible to the human eye.
Organisers in Braunschweig were Ulrike Lahmann and Dr. Hans U. Danzebrink supported by the project partner "Braunschweigische Landschaft e.V.". The exhibition was shown at the new "Haus der Wissenschaft" ("House of science"), which is situated on the campus of Braunschweig Technical University. The presentation of the images was accompanied by a number of lectures, tours and related events for school classes and public groups.
