The Water Pirates (Hurting Salmon)

The Water Pirates is the first of many videos that explain why it is critical to defeat the water bond that will be on Californias November ballot. The $11 billion dollar measure is a pork-filled, naked power grab that will enrich a small group of wealthy powerful interests at the expense of an already bankrupt California - and thats just for starters. If it passes, it will kill The Delta and be the end for the biggest and most important estuary in North and South America, San Francisco Bay.

All these farmers talking about they need water seem to forget that the United States produces an over abundance of food. Just look around you and see out obesity problem in America. We make so much food in fact that we ship it out for free to 3rd world countries so that we can keep their farmers from competing.

I don't think we need to give farmers more water, we need less farmers. At what point will your greed stop?

Lookup the Miller Brady Act. For almost 20 years farmers have been losing water. Water that is being sent to the ocean. To the benifit of no one!!! Not even the fish!!! They are worse off than ever!!!

Seems to me the whole conflict boils down to one single question. Which is the most crucial, the destruction of the salmon, which will induce extinction among the fish and fisherman who harvest them, or agricultural, which will also provides crucial jobs and supplies food also. I will always reside in species crucial to ecosystems, for i don't believe humans should destroy to make room for their own benefit.

This is not surprising as they seem to want to support the pesticide and chemical industry, not to mention pharmacutical industry. They are responsible for most pollution. Have you ever seen any press about endrocrine disruptors in the water. CA never mentions these crucial issues. How many millions a acrea feet of water do we have to waste out to sea, Killing the farmers and farm workers, while letting Sacramento pollute the delta with a billion gallons a day of partially treated sewage. Amonia is toxic to fish!!! I guess stopping pollution doesn"t fit in with the agenda getting power and control of California's water rescources. If anyone is a pirate, it is you!!!
