I shared what I was told by this "Bill" n how he felt. He felt it's because of Hearing. I respect his opinion based on his grown up with some hearing teachers being put him down, etc. We both know n do not need to go on.

Even a parent can be mistaken besides being hearing, though.

    Thanks for stopping by.

  • @gamaswanderings I see something different.

There is the Deaf senior citizen.

Then there is the Deaf friend who had the Hearing senior citizen father.

The Deaf senior citizen accepted as fact what the Deaf friend's hearing father had said. It is a deference to the majority opinion.

  • young Mark he will understand later after he goes through life experiences hewill realize...smiles.Young tend to know everything. But for hearing they think deaf dont hear enough...of course they assume deaf dont know much as hearing do.

  • Interesting... yea, it also could be "My father is better than yours" attitude embedded into "Mark" bloodline. Anyway yea, I know what you meant by that. I had similar problem few years ago with my deaf son. He once, at 13 yrs old that time, corrected my ASL sign, with his "correct" sign taught from his hearing teacher at Deaf school. Im Deaf of Deaf parents with long history of Deaf bloodlines... Targeted signed word was "Socialize"... Too crazy and I won, LOL...

  • Because hearing? Maybe it is because he looks up to his dad and believes his dad more because he is his dad. Why turn it into deaf and hearing issue? That is the major problem with some folks. I would believe my mom over another person's. Simply because it is my mom. Makes sense? Maybe the kid should have looked it up on the computer.

  • Interesting!
