@uakronsam116 I agree with you 100%. Im 18 and I got a 2002 Monte Carlo with 114,000 miles and it still runs like brand new. I wanna trade it in on something different though like a '98-'02 Lincoln Navigator or a older Tahoe or Suburban. My friend is 17 and he is about to get a $28,000 2012 Chevy Impala brand new.

What really upsets me about the Cash for Clunkers is knowing that nice, newer vehicles were traded in the then crushed while I still see beat up pieces of crap that burn oil and are unsafe driving down the street.
-
i bet it was beat to SHITT and loads of miles and ha bad tranny and ball joint ect thats why they traded it cause some companys where matching the gov 4500 buck offer like chrysler but he just prob trade that good truck for a pos dodge

Let's trash that $12,000 late model "clunker"!!! What a stupid, wasteful program. Instead of merely offering a rebate to help the poor get into slightly better vehicles they could still AFFORD, government's gonna get em into a BRAND NEW vehicle so they can be upside down after depreciation, and then they're gonna completely destroy anything that can't be sold in 60 days except the most important part, the engine that gets destroyed immediately. Oh, and all this funded by 3 billion taxpayer $s.
fuck obama

@yamahonkawazuki obama never said the guy HAD to trade in his perfectly good explorer. but i guess you could blame obama for the retarded rule that you have to destroy the cars that got traded in. what they shouldve done was a philanthropist kind of deal where, if you were poor, you could trade in your old gas guzzle for a newer guzzler that someone else traded in (like this one). but only for the people who really needed a safer, more reliable vehicle
