@PrawnToucher Before I say anything, I do love both shows. One could also make the argument that The Wire tends to get away from the policing realism in the later seasons. The first and second season were for me, the best of the police stories. I do love the wire though, so many actors on that show should have been heavily rewarded for their roles and unfortunately were not. The character of Tony Soprano was not only brilliant by Gandolfini but will be studied for years and years to come.

@torontoBluejays87 I personally rate The Wire as (slightly) higher than the Sopranos as there isn't as the writing is so tight, not a scene wasted whereas the Sopranos does tend to wander a bit in places. You are right though, both amazing shows.

Its great how Avon said "he a man today, he a man" its not many thugs that understand it takes a man to not pull a trigger and run the game they do. Respect for Avon. The Wire was one of the greatest shows ever. Far superior then The Sopranos in many respects.
